Lions are the only cats that live in packs. Lionesses are expert hunters and considered excellent mothers, but it is not uncommon for different lionesses to nurse another lionesses cubs while she is out hunting. While heirarchy is strongly respected, the well-being and rearing of the cubs is a primary priority of every member of the lion pack.
